What happens next in Parliament, and when will the Queen’s Speech be? 


Now that Boris Johnson secured his 80-seat majority, he can now look forward to holding  a Queen’s Speech next week. With it he will set out his agenda for the coming parliament, with key priorities from the Conservative manifesto. On Monday Mr Johnson is expected to carry out a re-shuffle of his cabinet. He will have to replace Zac Goldsmith, a Defra minister who lost his seat on Thursday to a Liberal Democrat in Richmond. Sajid Javid, the Chancellor and Priti Patel, Home Secretary are likely to remain in their posts, but Jacob Rees-Mogg –  who was sidelined during the election after his comments about the Grenfell fire – may well not return.
